FlyingHigh4Haiti receives public charity classification from the IRS

Tax exempt private foundation Flying High For Haiti will now be operating as a tax exempt public charity under the name FlyingHigh4Haiti. The newly obtained public charity classification will provide additional fundraising opportunities for the organization to further improve the education and livelihood of the children of Ile-a-Vache in southern Haiti. As a public charity, FlyingHigh4Haiti will now be able to: apply for corporate grants, receive donations from companies, and participate in matching gift programs.

“We are very excited to be able to operate as a public charity and explore the new fundraising opportunities open to us,” said Ines Lozano, founder and CEO of FlyingHigh4Haiti. “This change in our charity classification will allow us to grow our pool of donors, raise funds more efficiently, and implement new projects to support our mission of bringing education and opportunity to the children of Ile-a-Vache.”
